| We were passing through Slidell on a Friday evening, so stopped in for dinner. The prime rib plate was excellent and very reasonable at $14. Gigantic onion rings were great. Others in our party were impressed with the catfish and shrimp. Someone at the table next to us ordered the hamburger steak, which was huge and smothered in onions and gravy. | They are open weekly for breakfast and lunch serving fantastic breakfasts including Mama Jim's Ahhh-full Waffles, Philly Omelets, and Cajun Benedicts on weekends; LA Pines also serves up special menus for Fridays and Saturdays, featuring char-broiled oysters, aged ribeye steaks and filet mignon, seafood specialties including Tuna Steak Lafitte, Blackened Shrimp Salad, and lots of extras.
