   My son and I stopped by and ate breakfast in November 2010. The food was excellent. This place was packed and we were there early. It was clean, the wait staff was very attentive, and the food was top shelf. If you are ever in Portland, vist this restaurant. It is a very interesting ecclectic place with lot's to see on the walls and in the shelves on the walls.

   It was great! Well worth the trip. Great old diner atmosphere. Amazing veg omelete! The bisquit was to die for! It was huge and as my wonderful husband would say "deeeelicious"!

   The Byways Philly cheese steak was great. Service friendly and customer oriented.

   Will go back next time I'm in town.

   By far the best Reuben I have ever had!!!  My Buddy and I went for breakfast on our road trip and we missed the breakfast so we decided to try the sandwich's.  The server suggested the Reuben, so we got the Reuben and the Pendleton.  Both were good, but the reuben just melted in the mouth to the point, that when we finally got over how good it was, we had wished we had got one for the road.

   It was a great trip to see my cousin, when we got there it was pretty busy but we had a great breakfast. Highly recommend dropping in!

   I visited Byways Cafe in Portland last July (08). It was a 'typical' diner. We enjoyed their breakfast specials. When in Portland I will visit again.
