Ate here just about a week ago....the Thanksgiving balls were amazing and the gravy to die for. My girlfriend had their Mac n Cheese and it was homestyle and very good. No wait, got a table right away. Service was fast and pretty friendly. Only disappointment was that they didn't have the bacon apple pie available that day...really wanted to try it. Check it out!!!!

Worth the 2.5 mile run to get there for an AMAZING BISCUITS AND GRAVY! Not to mention the bloody Mary/miller chaser cocktail was awesome. Will be back again tomorrow one last time before heading back home out West!

We came up from missouri and wanted to stop at a DDD stop. Waited 40 min for 2 below average sandwiches. Would not recommend.

So good I ate there twice in one day. I had the vegan gyro for lunch- a beautiful thing. All I remember about a gyro without the meat. For dinner it was the Vegan Rueben- I loved sinking my teeth into a real sandwich with all the flavors I remember- they used field Roastin placew of the corned beef and my taste buds didn't skip a beat.

If you live within a hundred miles of Milwaukee this place is worth the trip. If you are a vegan, I'd say make that 300 miles. If you are passing through Chicago- take the side trip.

Great food, great menu, great deal. I live in milwaukee and frequent this place about once a week, and if there's one thing i know about this place is they make you wait for your food. Nothing fast about it. Also doesnt help the place is packed at all times, but it's well worth the wait. And if there's a better hangover cure than their bloody mary i dont think it's been found  yet.

I loved this place.  They had the best pulled pork sandwich I've ever had.  My husband had the meatloaf sandwich, and it was delicious too.  it's a must try

Fantastic sandwiches and very original menu.  I had an artichoke and cheese that was to die for and also their triple mushroom walnut soup --- couldn't have been better.  If I ever have another chance to go to the Comet Cafe I would be there in a flash!!!

Compact Turkey dinner was great but it could have been a little more food for the price.

Eh..They only serve brunch till 3 on Sat and Sun.  Don't go before 3 on the weekend if you want to order off the full menu.  We made that mistake.  Couldn't try the items that we drove all the way there for.  125 mile trip (each way).  The food was good but we were disappointed to only be able to get breakfast or light lunch items.  I would try again, I will have a hard time getting the husband back there.

Comet cafe is a vegetarian's paradise...but don't worry carnivores, there is plenty for you as well! I've had numerous menu items and have never been dissappointed! Everything is made from scratch using as many local items as possible. The prices for made-from-scratch food can't be beat!! You'll be hard pressed to find many things over $12, with most entrees/sandwiches between $7-$11. I've heard breakfast is very good, although I have yet to try the breakfast (YET!)

The Vegan Deep Fried Ribs appetizer is unique and great. The hand cut fries at Comet are among my favorite fries EVER! The baked mac and cheese is superb. I love the classic artichoke melt. And the tomato soup (with grilled cheese) is awesome!

They bake all their desserts in house as well, and they are tremendous and change daily.
