The Turkey sandwich was as good as the look on Guy's face

Having relocated from Eastern North Carolina, I was missing  traditional Eastern Carolina pulled pork! I think the BBQ is closest to authentic eastern Carolina vinegar based pulled pork (my father-in-law has won several awards with his pulled pork during competitions). Good sauce. Cole slaw is good. Only thing missing was french fries and hush puppies (guess they don't want to maintain a fryer)! Plan on eating there again, may try the burnt ends next time!!

While visiting My uncle in Virginia Beach , I made him take me here . I have to say the pulled pork and burnt ends were the best I have had ever . I have been to a few other places that I have seen on TV and this place was the best .

My boyfriend & I went there after seeing it on the show because we're local & had never even heard of this place. It was terrible. We both got the platters. The pulled pork was WATERY - not juicy, but soggy. It was gross. The cole slaw is in desperate need of salt & pepper, the potato salad was edible at best, & the collard greens were completely tasteless. The best thing about this place was the soda. Will not be eating here again.

What I had was quite good - a trio platter: burnt ends, minced (I know it says pulled) pork, and sausage. Good slaw and OK beans. Nice-sized portions. A good assortment of sauces. I like them hot, and they had them. Spent some time talking to a person whom I presume was the owner, about BBQ and music. Glad I had time ot fit this place in. I would definitely go back.

Homemade pickles were great and the mashed potatoes....to die for!! I have no idea what Megan ate but this place was absolutely #1 with us! Thanks for the great time Whitners! See you next year!
