So here's the thing about Joe's: It's a neat place, a DDD restaurant that's got a fun atmosphere and good food. The problem is that two burgers for two people who shared a side of fries and a milkshake--and ordered nothing else, not even soda--should not cost $58 after tax and a moderate tip. While the food is good, it's frustrating to leave what would otherwise have been a decent experience feeling used and ripped off, like Joe cares far less about me and his food and far more about the money he can make off every unsuspecting tourist looking for an interesting meal. So just remember, when you order, *everything* is a la carte.

Food was good, atmosphere was fun. But it is pricey. I have had better burgers for less. It was okay to try it, but I would not go back at those prices. It is too bad because most DDDs are reasonably priced.

Ok sowe never read any of the reviews and I'm SO HAPPY WE DIDN'T. This place was AMAZING. It is pricey but we don't mind paying for GREAT FOOD. The service was friendly and fast. If we lived here this would be a regular for us!

And must I add when we paid she did not give us our change back and assumed the change was hers. What waitress in thier right mind does that being there was two desperate tickets. She basically got a $20.00 undeserved tip

I went in on a Monday with my husband brother and sister in law, place wasn't hard to find neither was a seat. Burgers were not that great nor was the outrageous prices! For all four of us to eat it was 103.00. We ordered 2 chili 8oz burger (didnt see a size differnece between the 8 & the 4 oz either) the avocado burger and the bacon burger a small order of onion rings a large order of onion rings and a large order of fries two ice teas a mr. Pib and a root beer float. For the amount that we spent I would have thought we had a few alcoholic beverages to go with our steak but that was not the case. Not to mention $2 for refills damn I felt pretty obligated to drink my refill, who charges for refills? For the price we spent I was not impressed at all as a matter of fact we went home that night and made our own burgers that were wag better than this place. I can't even give this place a single star

Glad this wasn't the first Triple D restaurant I've visited. One cheeseburger, one bacon cheeseburger, one small fry, one coke -- $43 plus a tip! Seriously? I've read other reviews where the price is defended because the patties are made from "steak". It's CHUCK, a cut best slow-cooked (think pot roast). The up charge for an 8oz vs a 4oz patty was $5 - that equates to $20/lb for CHUCK with some rib-eye thrown in. Did the prices get raised after the Triple D episode? If so, shame on the restaurant owner. I won't be back. Too many really good restaurants in the Bay Area.

Nothing special about the flavors, and beware of the surroundings if you're seizure prone. He was nice enough and came over to talk to us, but then gave us this huge sob story about how he has to raise prices to keep up with the competition; I think this was a foreshadowing of the bill - 2 burgers, 2 fries and 2 milkshakes cost us $65-70! We've eaten at quite a few DDD places, and this was, by far, THE worst.

This is the worst DDD place I have ever eaten at and have ate at a lot of them. Took my wife here as part of our honeymoon/DDD road trip and was extremely disappointed with the terrible service and below average burger for ridiculously high prices. And being on DDD has gone to their head as it is advertised everywhere. Guy let us down with this one.

Ate here based on DDD and I was very disappointed. Poor service and over priced average food. Not worthy of a destination vacation.

My family and I went to this place on a Monday and I was SOOOOOOOOOOO upset with both the service and the food. where should I start, They say its kids friendly, but they don’t have a kids menu? Yeah they say they use BUD's ice cream (a very good and respected name in the ice cream world) which is true but only vanilla, they mix in the other flavors. It took along time for the drinks, and the food was waaayyyyy over priced and not good. Get this they have a $7.00 plate fee. Now this wouldn’t be bad if the portions were big enough to share. I feel this place was not worth the money or the time we spent there waiting for the mediocre food we received. We will not go back or recommend this place to anyone. I hate to see the Bay area represented like that.

Their "gourmet" hamburger should be able to stand on its own, they say. I say the meat was so-so. It was served raw in the middle, not even rare. I'm not joking: the middle was pasty just like raw ground beef! I'm pretty sure steak tartare was not intended. The service was curt, brief and unfriendly. The parking lot sucks, as the other person says, but I don't blame the diner owners for that. The decoration of the place is very entertaining, so go there for a shake and fries, and avoid the burgers.

Me and my sister ate here a few weeks ago and were not happy with it... We were gonna share since we didn't know if we were gonna like it and they said it was 6.00 to share... WTF... The plate was paper so it wasn't like they had extra dishs to wash... The parking suck also... U can tell they have lots of regulars who they give all there attention too...
