Food was amazing. Kristen was our server, she was friendly and welcoming. The original owner was there working in the gift shop. The pink Cadillacs right next door to pick.you up. Great family joint.

Loved it! Atmosphere was fun and the servers were amazing! Super close to Graceland so it is a great place to stop when you finish the tour!

And the other three clients that were there seem like very sad and actualy were a little rude. Never will go back and never will recomend.

Had dinner there last night and I was very disappointed. Bad service, food was either under cooked or over cooked, little pricey for what we had. Will not go back

The ribs were awful, very tough, and the server gave me a refill of my soda without any ice, saying I could pour it in from my first glass.... only good thing I had from my meal here was the corn fritters. I won't be returning.

Marlowe's is the greatest place in the world for ribs, food of all kinds and southern hospatility.  They treat you like family.  When I'm in Memphis I eat at Marlowe's every day.  This is a must for all Elvis fans just 1 mile south of Graceland.  Elvis gift shop where you can find great and unusal Elvis items. When you go to Marlowe's tell them Sharon sent you. Ate at Marlowe's way over rated and out of the way. Ribs weren't anything special....who can taste the meat when it's being drowned in "nothing special" Bar B Q sauce ? the brisket was over cooked and tough.....much better stuff is found on Beale Street and you don't pay anymore for the better location....Marlowes is in a terrible part of Memphis...but there are worse. This post is just an update...sorry about the duplicate complaints.

put this place on my list of places to eat while in Memphis....HUGE disapointment. The ribs had much to much sauce on them, the brisket was tough. Thank god this was our first dinner...after Marlowe's things have no choice except to get better....

If you're an elvis fan come here. If you're not...like we aren't then STILL come here. You can ignore the king if he isn't what you're into but the bbq is just to die for. The sweet, tangy bbq sauce smothered the ribs and the pulled pork. There is a secret hot sauce in the back that they have that you have to specifically ask for that is DELICIOUS. We smothered the fried okra in that sauce and once you have it like that, I don't think fried okra would ever taste the same. We ended up getting a combo with the ribs and the pulled pork with 2 sides...the okra and the potatoe salad. All of it was really delicious we'd suggest it for sure!

The atmosphere was really neat. Lots of Elvis stuff but also tons of other memoribilia. The food was great order the meal with 3 choices of meats.. was plenty for the 3 of us to share. The pink pig was an attraction and they will pick you up at  your hotel with a pink limo or caddy. Don't miss this one in Memphis.

while this place was not in the safest part of Memphis (then again what is safe in Memphis) this place was absolutely fun and fantastick! Covered from floor to ceiling in Elvis decor with the Elvis Radio Station playing as well, was a fabulous atmospheric roadstop. My dad and i split the combo order of pulled pork and ribs, now while we looove NC bbq, this was lip-smacking good! A must stop for road travelors. We met the owner Tony who had tales of Graveland, the neighborhood, and Elvis himself. Was a wonderful diversion from our destination. Would recommend to anyone just be aware and smart about where you are.

The one bite I had of my meal was delicious.  Then my traveling companion found the cockroach in hers.  Should have been tipped off when I paid a visit to the filthy ladies room after placing our order.  The manager's comment "Well, this is the South", reflected his attitude, and told us that conditions would be no better on our next trip to Memphis.   This place definitely qualifies as a "Dive".

WE HAD WATCHED YOUR PROGRAM ON TV A COUPLE OF MONTHS AGO. WE ARE TRAVELING FROM CALIFORNIA TO THE EASTERN STATES.. SO WHILE IN MEMPHIS WE TRIED MARLOWE'S. THE RIB'S AND PORK SANDWICH WERE TO DIE FOR..MET THE OWNER'S DAUGHTER AND OF COURSE HAD TO BUY THE RUB AND BBQ SAUCE. I RECOMMEND THE PLACE TO EVERYONE..KEN AND PAULETT, RIPON CA

Stop #2 on our DDD road trip and it was nothing short of fantastic! We arrived in town and were planning to go there for supper then the lady who checked us in to our room gave us a flyer for there...so we booked the pink limo to pick us up and while we were getting ready to go DDD was on featuring Marlowe's...I'm not kidding. The limo driver was very nice and when we arrived the lady was so nice...we told her about the coincidence and chatted a bit then she bought us each a beer that we'd never had before. Started with fried green tomatoes which were good but the ribs were the meatiest bestest ribs ever...pulled pork was oh so yummy too. Over all this was a scrumptious experience with a great atmosphere...we'll most definately be going back some time!! Yum! Yum!

You need to know this location is in a bad neighborhood. We had the idea of stopping at all the diners drive ins and dives locations that we could while on vacation with friends...this location was closed when we made it there, so we decided to go across the street to a blues type sports bar. We werent out of our car a half an hour before it was broke into and half of all of our stuff was taken and our windows knocked out. We thought we would be safe knowing that it was pretty close to graceland but not soo. I wouldnt go out of my way to stop at this location. Graceland security told us to only park our car at hotels and eating establishments with fences and or visable security. If you want good Authentic BBQ go to BB kings on Beale street...it was great!

We were a bit disappointed with a visit here--the barbeque was good and the ribs were fall off the bone, but the slaw was way over chopped and overdone with mayo.  The service was friendly when he was around, but he didn't come around much.  May have been related to the fact there were a dozen of us and the tip was added on.  the loud accoustical atmosphere was made worse by another group near us that was very loud--it was hard to talk.  Wouldn't recommend that anyone go out of their way for this DI,D, and D.

BEST RIBS IN MEMPHIS AND REASONABLE, STIFF DRINKS.

  • Posted by Greg December 2009

The ribs were dry and a bit chewy.  The flavor was just ok.  We were really disappointed given the other reviews.

Marlowes has great food and sassy waitress's. All in all it was great night out.
