| Kristi W. | I've been going here since I was a kid. The food is delish and authentic Polish. I no longer live in Michigan but every time I go home I make it a point to go eat here at least once. The beet soup is my favorite!! | 11/21/2011 10:28:05 PM |
| My daughter and I visited last month because we love perogies and saw the DDD episode. This really is a local hot spot. It is in a residential neighbourhood with street parking. We got there early, 4:30ish and it was busy. After 5:00 there was a steady stream of sit down customers as well as take out patrons. The staff were friendly and very accomodating. FYI. They only take cash. My daughter ordered cheese and potato perogies and schnizel. It was delicious. The perogies were soft and full of flavour. I could not decide so I ordered the Polish Plate. Filled with mashed potato/gravy, saurerkraut, cabbage roll, perogie and kielbassa. Home style Polish food. Authentic and fresh. I asked if they had anything sweet and our server said if I could wait for 10 minutes they would whip up some fresh fruit perogies. Yum! I ordered a split order..3 strawberry and 3 blueberry. Absolutely melt in your mouth goodness. Sugary, fruity, starchy. The only downside to our experience was that the restaurant is in a basement. Quite dark and a bit tacky. But it did not take away from the friendly, cozy atmosphere. Would definately go back if I was in Detroit again. Cheers. | 11/18/2011 4:43:44 PM |
