White Manna Hamburgers in Hackensack, New Jersey is a beloved institution that has been serving up delicious burgers to hungry customers since 1939. Located just a few miles outside of New York City, White Manna has long been a popular destination for locals and visitors alike. The menu at White Manna is simple, but that's a big part of its charm. Customers can choose from a variety of burgers, including the classic White Manna burger, a slimmer version called the White Manna Jr., and a double cheeseburger. All of the burgers are made with fresh, never frozen beef and cooked to perfection on the grill. One of the things that sets White Manna apart from other hamburger joints is its unique decor. The tiny, cramped restaurant is adorned with vintage signs and other memorabilia, giving it a classic, retro feel. The counter seating is limited, so customers often have to wait in line to get a spot. But the wait is worth it – White Manna is known for having some of the best burgers in the area. In addition to its delicious burgers, White Manna is also known for its shakes, which are made with real ice cream and a variety of flavors. Customers can choose from classic flavors like chocolate and vanilla, or opt for something more unique like peanut butter or butterscotch. Despite its small size and humble origins, White Manna has gained a cult following over the years. It has been featured in numerous food magazines and television shows, and has even attracted celebrity customers like Anthony Bourdain and Martha Stewart. If you're in the Hackensack area and looking for a delicious, old-fashioned hamburger, White Manna is definitely worth a visit. With its tasty burgers, creamy shakes, and retro atmosphere, it's a must-try for anyone who loves a good burger.

This place is outstanding! You order from the grill man and have a seat. Burgers steam on the griddle smothered in onions served on soft Martins Potato Rolls. Thin sliced dills on the side. Crinkle cut fries perfectly fried and now you know why they call it Manna. Jersey born guy, I love this place that is what White Castle looks like a cheap imitation. I don't know how they can serve this quality for the price. We will visit again.

How do you get over ones self?? Weird term. Maybe you don't believe in cleanliness, which means you probably don't mind wearing the same dirty underwear for days on end...I can only assume since you don't mind dirty gloves touching your meal. If you work in and or own a restaurant, you should be concerned about the way your employees handle meals, especially when your place has been featured on a show to promote your business and help you gain more customers. Cheers to you and all the salmanilla you can handle!!

Unbelievable what NJ thinks a burger is. Either a one pound grease patty with nothing on it (lettuce and tomato? Oh THAT'S a gardenburger!) or these little smears of meat on a dinner roll. The building was built in 1781 and they use the original grease for the fries. The place has as many flies as Guidos hanging around it. Disgusting.

We went there about a month ago, it wasn't crowded like usual so we sat at the counter, ordered our burgers and watched the lady proceed to touch the raw hamburger meat, put it on the grill, then grab the onions with the same gloves on and put them on the grill.  She then grabbed a cup for a couples daughter sitting next to us and filled it with soda--still wearing those same raw meat touching gloves.  She then dug into the hamburger bun bag, touched a few of those and put them on the grill with the same nasty gloves.  I was so digusted with all of the cross-contamination, I couldn't eat it.  You would think someone else would say something as I'm sure this is the usual way they do everything but it's usually so crowded no one pays attention?  That could be my only guess.  The whole experience was disgusting and unsanitary.  I live about 10 minutes away from the place and will never go back.  The burgers are probably great but it's not worth the chance of getting sick.

This place rocks!  Home of the original slider!  Once you've had one, you'll never go to McDonalds again!

White Manna has the best burgers anywhere. Sure they take a long time to cook but it's worth it, especially with the onions which make it an even better burger. I dont care too much for their fries but you don't go there for those, that is just a side. I just wish there were places like White Manna in more cities that I travel to.

Basically, I broke my vegetarianism to try these tasty tasty little burgers...and it was so worth it. I'm back on the wagon now, but I don't regret falling off for this place, which really makes for a unique dining experience...it's a tiny place sandwiched between the Passaic River and a busy road with an even tinier customer eating/ordering area in the front of the store, that serves one delicious tiny burger, without all the artificial additives and flavors of fast food burgers. I loved it!

Being the born and raised North Jersey boy that I am, you know that I had to frequent this place a LOT. Let's not kid ourselves, you do not go for ambiance or scenery, but you DO go back (and repeatedly) for those perfect little bite-sized morsels of AMAZING. If you've never been, it is a culinary experience you would not want to miss out on. 2 thumbs up, GREAT family fun...

1000 times better than a White Castle slider. Real meat! Onions! Soft potato roll! Oh man.... Highly reccommended.
