I had the Linguine w/ Domery Sauce (I accidentally got Linguine instead of Rigatoni because I forgot what Guy had on the episode). I thought it was good and the portion was huge. The sauce is what made it, it was very unique and I've never had red clam sauce before. I don't think getting Rigatoni would have made it that much better but the Linguine worked well with the sauce and it was very convenient to get whatever kind of pasta you wanted with your sauce combination. 8.0/10

Was there just recently, and the food was great. Frank and his staff are great people. Was able to try 2 of the 3 items that were on the show. Both of them were great.

I have been here twice, both times were great. I've had the linguine with meat sauce, sausage & meatball. It was fantastic, along with the salad & bread. I enjoyed my second visit as well. This time I had the Mushroom Ravioli & it was outstanding. Both times I had the fried calamari appraiser, some of the best I have ever had. My mother & sister were with me both times, we all three look forward to our next visit.

Food was terrible. Thumbs Down- I was worried about food poisoning when I left.

I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. I didn't like the atmosphere when I walked in but saw Guy's picture and thought ok. But food was awful. My table of 4, each one of us got a different dish. None of them were good, authentic Italian food, sauce was bland/missing what was supposed to flavor it. I'm sorry for the bad review but not one of the four dishes was appetizing.

The food was just ok. It also was a little too expensive for my taste. Maybe we were expecting a little too much. Also my husband said that the pizza was better reheated.

Really big let Down.poor food and worse service . Don't understand how it voting the show.

Honestly, when we took the family to this place SPECIFICALLY because it was on the show we were really expecting some good food.  I am Italian and my Nana used to own an Italian joint so I am no stranger to Italian food. This place does NOT deliver.  The supposedly famous sauce is basically canned tomato sauce with zero flavor at all.  The ravioli is your basic frozen ravioli.  The lasagna is weak. The meatballs, probably the worst meatball ever tasted by my family.

We're big fans of Guy, but his endorsement of this restaurant makes me question him. I grew up enjoying melt-in-your-mouth gnocchi, and I haven't found any comparable recipes in SoCal. After eating at Mama Cozza's, I'm certain that I've made better gnocchi from a frozen bag.

Terrible, I'm shocked that the show tried this place and made a show on it that guided me and my fiancé to eat here! Wow don't waste your time Nor money. It had the taste of tomato paste on all their Italian dishes and pizza. TRUST ME

hello, a good friend turned me on to this place a few years ago, an was surprised to see them on triple d! i hve tried many dishs there, and would have to say you have to be targeted on what you get. sandwiches are great. pizzas are great, especially for california as there is not a lot of great pizza here. pasta dishes are hit and miss, i would aviod. lasgna, i have not had, looks good, may try on specials day. service is nice, not really warm and friendly, but not bad either. big anaheim PD hangout.

We're staying in Southern CA and wanted to have a nice dinner..so, we looked Guy's choices.  I actually would give this restaurant a 2.5 stars but couldn't.  The atmosphere was lovely, service was great.  The dinner...well even my partner even would say it was not the "best".  It was good but the sauce was on the sweet side.  So, if you don't like "sweet" sauce/gravy then this won't be the place for you.

Just had one of the best Italian meals in my life! The food was excellent. The service was fantastic! My family liked it so much we are going back before we head home to Canada. Make a reservation as this place gets packed early.

Never been there, but worked very close to there for 3+ years, and NEVER heard of it.  Funny how "Guet" posting at 10:37 New Years Day posts this very seemingly SCRIPTED comment - check it out - looks contrived, like one of the owners wrote it, haha...

Mama Cozza's Italian Restaurant is one of a kind! They have been serving fine Italian food since 1965. At Mama Cozza’s, you can enjoy an intimate dinner for two or a large family feast. Throw a catered party in their Banquet Room or just stop by the lounge to watch a game. They have a full bar, a diverse wine list, and special Italian desserts. They also serve seafood, lamb, veal, steak, chicken, salads, sandwiches, pasta, and pizza, as well as prime rib Fridays through Sundays- all within the friendly, neighborhood atmosphere of a family-owned establishment.

    It was good not great

  • Posted by Anonymous September 2010

Sure, it's been there for many decades, and it shows. The food was bland and service was worse. There are many better Italian places in So Cal. Try Peppino's in Irvine or even better, Cialuzzi's in Redondo Beach!

Mama Cozza's has been in business for 45 years and is known for its quality Italian food. Its family owned and operated, so you will always have great service.

Stopped by Mama Cozza's last weekend.  My wife and i had a very nice dinner.  It was actually much better than I expected.  Check out the full review here: http://www.saturdaynightfoodies.com/2010/06/italian-triple-d-in-oc-mama-cozzas.html Thank you FlavorTown for get these posted so early!!  Great site.

very dissapointed, had the speghetti and pizza as it was very bland.  The sause was weak and meatballs had the texture and smell of cat food.  Maybe they had a bad night based on the other reviews but we won't be back.

  • Posted by glenn April 2010

great food from the cheese cake to the pizza never had a bad dinner or experince

  • Posted by Anonymous April 2010

We had the manicotti which had a very light - almost airy - filling. It was delicious. Covered in Mama sauce (a basic red sauce) with shredded, melted mozzarella on top. Mama sauce is a good quality sauce but nothing out of the ordinary for a good restaurant. We also had the cannelloni which was excellent. Also had the Mama sauce. The all-around winner was the NY steak sandwich which came with a mound of French fries. Extremely tender, juicy and full of flavor. There is no way they make any money on this deal - it is less than $9!

We ate there with our kids and family last month and can't wait to see this episode air...GREAT food & everyone was very friendly!!! We found out that Gwen Stefani had just been there with her family and had sat at the same booth!!!!  Highly recommend it for a family meal or as a date night...portions are big...be prepared to have leftovers or share! ; )
