I have eaten at Arnolds once- have to say, it was very good. However, my favorite meat-and-three is just up the street on Lafayette St.- Dandegure's cafeteria. Dan's has the same kind of foods, just a little tastier in my opinion (many will find that hard to be possible) Guy, are you list'nin'?

My family and I stopped in to Arnolds last week on a Thursday (menu changes daily), just ahead of the lunch rush (and it was definitely a rush!) Arnolds was very popular on our visit with nearly standing-room only. We enjoyed their roast beef, fried green tomatoes, green beans and mac-n-cheese. Everything we had was tasty. The only thing that was disappointing was the peach pie, it had very little peach to it, and was very sweet. Otherwise it was worth the stop, and this is one that I would recommend to others, too. Just try and get there around 10:45 am to beat the lunch rush, and remember their menu changes each day. Enjoy!

Stopped in the other day and was amazed at how tender the roast beef and chicken fried steak was. The concept of meat plus three is great. You only pay for what you want to eat. I normally don't fried green tomatoes, but these were good. The only bad thing was the chocolate pie, it was really grainy, I couldn't eat it. Well will go back next time in Nashville!

My husband and I ate here the other day with Jake Owen and a group of CMA trip winners. We are from Vegas and let me just say we don't get that kinda food out here! This place alone would be reason enough to move on out to Nashville! I'm a good cook and this is the best food I've ever ate! We asked Jake what he gets and he said he sticks with the Roast beef, collard greens, Mashed potatoes and mac & cheese. Great choice! I also tried the chocolate pie. Oh my goodness I thought I was in chocolate heaven! That crust is to die for, too. I cannot wait to go back and visit. Everyone here is super nice especially Willy.

We arrived early on a Monday and the line was already forming. Being from Toronto we weren't familliar with the "meat and 3"concept but the regulars in line and friendly staff were very helpful. Hubby had the roast beef and I had the fried chicken and we tried a wide selection of sides between us. Everything was great!! The place filled quickly and the line was out the door but moved fast. We plan on returning to Nashville and certainly will be coming back here.

The food was excellent! We were lucky and finished our lunch before the lunch time crowd, my husband had the roast beef and thought it was delicious. I loved the fried green tomatoes and Mac and cheese!

Wife and I went on a Thursdaymorning at about 1045.  Glad we went when we did as when we were leaving they were lined out the door.  Couple in front of us were from Brentwood and eat there everyday.  They were helpful and the servers were very helpful in making selections.  Wife got roast beef and I got chiken livers on rice with onions.  Server suggested gravy on side.  Both meat selections were GREAT.  Fried Green Tomatoes where some of the best ever ate.  Grilled cornbread is out of this world.  Collard Greens were great.  Pecan pie is just like grandma use to make.  Outstanding food, line servers and Will the individual that assist you after sitting at your table with food was a pleasure to talk to and helpful with any needs.  Seating is the only problem as individuals start coming in for lunch. One of the best meals I ever ate and so reasonable in price.  You will be telling everyone about your visit to Arnold's.

great home cooked food. did not mind the wait, everyone was so friendly, including the guy cleaning the tables. we were there right at 12. we had to share a table but afterwe sat down there was a line out the door. The roast beef, turnip greens were great. pecan pie pretty awesome to. try it you wont be dissappointed.

The food, prices and service warrant 5 stars but the very limited seating gets tiresome and that knocks it down a star in my view. We arrived at 11:40 a.m. and there was already a line out the front door. We lucked out when a table opened up as soon as we began looking for a place to sit. The next few people in line, though, had to share tables with strangers or stand around waiting for a seat. My wife and I each had a reasonably priced “meat and 2.” My wife raved about her chicken dumplings and I enjoyed the meatloaf (with BBQ sauce in lieu of ketchup. I really liked their turnip greens, which have a noticeable flavor kick (which I gather is the wasabi powder). Our other sides were also good. The location is off the beaten path. Use GPS if your not familiar with Nashville. Also, if I and the other reviewers haven't already made it plainly clear-- get there early or expect to wait twice; once for the food and again for a place to sit.

We found Arnold's - Specifically looking for it because of triple D. We arrived around 11:30 on a Thursday. Good we got there when we did, the line was already forming. The place was crowded; and it's not that big to begin with. It is cafeteria-style ..asked people in front if they've been there before and if so, how does it work. They were very emphatic to try the roast beef or the chicken. So, the server behind the food was super nice and friendly.. Told me to try the bread pudding and get the vanilla cream sauce.. Bottom line- the food was delicious!!! We couldn't get a table by ourselves, so sat with a friendly woman and her daughter - who are regulars. Wonderful conversations and totally enjoyed the food and visit. Just be prepared to maybe share a table and wait in line... And it's not quiet either.. :)

I live in the Nashville area, but never heard about this place until I was watching DDD and saw it featured there.  I can't believe that I've lived so close to this place for so long and never knew it existed!  The food is wonderful - just what a "meat & 3" should be.  Nothing is bad.  If you want to avoid a long line, get there early.

A MUST stop if you will be in Nashville. I'm glad I got there early because the line was quickly to the door. I got the fried chicken, mash potatos, cream corn, corn bread, and choc cream pie. Everything was great but the cream corn and choc pie were the best I have ever had.

resh home cooked southern food, no canned veggies here. Superb, I used to work near here, and it was a treat everytime i went. It is a cafeteria style restaurant where you usually pick a meat and two or three veggie sides. haven't been there in a few years, but i remember it to be phenomenal. I wish there was a place like that where i live now (Raleigh, NC).
