I had the St. Louis Style Ribs with Macaroni & Cheese and Baked Beans. Everything about my meal was exceptional. The BBQ sauce was very unique and nothing I've ever tried before. I will be up there again this weekend to revisit. 9.8/10

Stop at this place on my way thought Chicago and it was excellent. The smoked brisket was the best I have ever had. Service was fast and friendly. It is so good, I will likely brave Chicago traffic again to go.

Killer brisket and really good baked beans (and I am not a big fan of those). Not a lot of seating and pretty busy, but they do work hard to try and keep the tables turning over. My son had ribs that were also very good.

Brisket was the best I've had outside of Austin! Sides were awesome!

WOW, the food here is INSANE! The BBQ beans, the brisket and the St Louis Ribs are all amazing. The service is equally good and the staff is very kind and helpful. All the side are delicious too. This is a must go to place in a city filled with amazing places to eat.

Went here solely based on Guy's rave review....WOW were we thrilled.  A fabulous smokehouse located right off the main highway.  have been back many times and each time it is busier and busier than the last.  Hint...bring your own booze!  :)

We stopped by this restauraunt on our last DDD vacation tour in November. We had the brisket sandwich and the baked bean. This BBQ brisket was delicious. It was juicy, well spiced, and had a wonderful smoked flavor to the meat. Definitely one of the best smoked brisket's I've ever eaten. If you live close to Chicago, drive into the city and give this place a try. You will not be disappointed.

My husband and I drove 45 miles to try Smoque . . . and would drive another 45 miles if we had to.  This place is to die for . . . we had brisket and ribs that were like something we had never ever had in our lives.  This place is unique . . . and smoqueing!  The staff was attentive and kind . . . and the owner made us feel like we were somebody special.  We can't wait to go back!

We just had lunch at Smoque today for the first time and can't wait to go back and try the rest of the items on the menu. We had the pulled pork and brisket which were AMAZING. Looking forward to trying the ribs and chicken. If you are ever in Chitown, you have to stop by and grab some awesome BBQ.  Easy access off the 90/94 but you need to look quick or you'll pass it by. Only about 5 min from downtown.

Being a BBQ fanatic and been raised in texas i am very picky when it comes to my food. Went with my wife and daughter. I ordered the brisket with a side of Texas sausage. The brisket was sub par Flaverless and still had 1/4-3/8" of fat on top Should have been smoked longer. Not much smoke flavor. The Sausage was amazing Best I have had up north. Fries were great and the slaw was also very good. My wife and daughter both had pulled pork the both liked there meals.

I used to live in Texas and have had my share of amazing barbeque.  This place beats them all!  I've never had more tender brisket in my life and the ribs are fall off the bone tender.  The sauces and sides are also amazing!

ok at the very best.  The problem is Chicago has no real BBQ joints so its easy for this one to stand out.  I have been there 8 times and was never overly impressed.  Now I will say the joint is great.  The staff is super nice.  The food is fresh and definitely a lot of care has been taken in the preparation of the food.  All I know is I have made better pulled pork on my gas grill rigging it to do slow and low.  I really don't get the 5 star rating but to each their own.  If you roll through chicago and need BBQ give it a try.

WOW!! I love BBQ and 2 of 3 BBQ restaurants are fair or worse. This place is AMAZING! The sauce is the best I have ever had, I have sampled 50+ around the us. All the food and sides are outstanding! One BBQ place out of 50 has this quality of BBQ. BBQ Heaven!!

From a California kid, this was amazing. The service was great, the owners were nice, and the food was money. The peach cobbler and the mac'n cheese was what did it for me. The best DD&D I've ever eaten at.

Fantastic!  Brisket was falling apart, great coleslaw and mac and cheese was perfect.  Close to OHare so we'll be back when we are next in town.  Worth the parking issues.

Made the trip to Smoque from O'Hare and it was worth the trip.  I had the baby back ribs, pulled pork side, cole slaw, bbq baked beans, and cut fries.  Everything, including the sauce-on-side was great.  I recommend this place to anyone that is looking for bbq in Chicagoland.

Totally as advertised. The brisket was awsome very tender, great smokey taste, huge flavor. My son Loved the Mac and cheese. Me and My Daughter thought the KC. ribs where as Guy might say "Out of bounds". The bbq Sauce was "money". Staff was very friendlly. Did i mention that My Wife thought the bbq Beans were in her defined as  "unbelievable".

The pulled pork sandwich was awesome and the cole slaw was fantastic.  I really didn't care for the other sides but with the sandwich and cole slaw that was all you needed.

Absolutely Awesome Brisket! Great flavor and so tender it melts in your mouth. St Louis Ribs were excellent too. Also pleasantly surprised at how good the mac & cheese was. Best BBQ my wife and I have ever had. Will definitely be back next we're in Chicago.

Stopped by the other day for lunch with my wife and we enjoyed one of the best BBQ meals we have had in a long time!  I have traveled all over the country and have eaten in some of the most famous BBQ restaurants around.  Texas, Kansas City, Carolina BBQ have some great restaurants, but I would put Smoque up against them any day.  If you love brisket, this is the only place to go in Chicago.  Do yourself a favor and find this place for a meal that you won't soon forgat!

This has to be "The Best" BBQ in the city of Chicago, Hands down !! There always is a wait to order and sit. But it is all worth it once you take that first bite. I try to make a trip there at least twice a month. This is a must try if you have not already.

  • Posted by Ragweed fan November 2009

The BEST ribs I have ever eaten, & the Carolina sauce is awesome!  Beans are great too.  Every person I have sent here raves about it as well.  I wish they sold mail order, I would buy a rack of ribs a month.

Awesome little place....fast service, super busy at lunch time.  Best BBQ I've had in a long time and I have been at the Memphis BBQ competitions and have eaten some pretty good North Carolina's BBQ.  I recommend it 200%. Priced right!  Enjoy BBQ that falls off the bone rib. My favorite, the brisket sandwich. :-P

To say this place makes great BBQ is an understatement.  Amazing fall off the bone ribs with great flavor.  The beans as a side is a meal in itself.  Thinking about the crust on their brisket makes my mouth water right now.  Too bad I was only passing through Chicago.
