While navigating the food truck scene in Chicago, former DucknRoll Chef and owner Amy Le discovered a kindred spirit in fellow food truck Chef Rafael Lopez, formerly of Wagyu Wagon. Through Saucy Porka, the two aspiring chefs have recreated their childhood memories in blended dishes like the pork carnitas pho soup and arrozo con edamame.
I visited this new Triple D spot today and I had the Asian Style Paella. The sausage and pork were wonderful and the rice paired well with it. I was expecting freshly-prepared meals but unfortunately after I ordered it the bowl came out in less than 3 minutes. The temperature of the dish was fine and I could tell it had a lot of potential to be a great dish but it just lands below expectations when it comes out so quickly like a couple of Triple D places have done in the past as well. I may give it another try someday but if you do decide to go maybe you could try it when it's a lot more busy so the dish comes out fresh. 7.7/10
