dinner itself was nearly $20, which I hesitated on because I thought,
wow, $20 is OK since this place is fabulous, but I'm not THAT hungry. So
I had the hot turkey sandwich instead. Let's say I'm glad I didn't drop
the $20. Quality of the turkey, gravy, stuffing, and potatoes were about what I would expect in a no-name cafeteria. All on a store-bought slice of wheat bread, which I thought was comical. The service, however, was quite good.
Sorry Guy, this place would have been better featured on Robert Irvine's Restaurant Impossible than on your Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives. It certainly was a dive, but not one where anyone should want to eat. I arrived with my family for breakfast and the staff appeared surprised that anyone had come to the restaurant, I had to go to find them. The service didn't get any better throughout our time there and the tables, seats and floor weren't clean and the entire restaurant was dark and drab. Worst of all, the food was poor. I ordered the Turkey Fried Steak breakfast and the steak was inedible (mostly connective tissue) and the gravy was so congealed, it couldn't be eaten without a spoon (which wasn't necessary since it tasted bad enough that I didn't want to eat it). Nobody else in my family finished their meal either for sake of taste, even though everyone was hungry. I'm guessing this is a friend from your Santa Rosa days, you should have them give Robert Irvine a call.
