Great selection of food was tough to find one meal..... So had a couple plates I was a fish taco virgin. Wow. Loved it. So much flavor. My wife loved it too.... Favorite DDD location in SD

Go to Blue Water Seafood! Been to a number of DDD spots. This is by far the best. Absolutely fantastic. Tacos were great as was fish salad. They know how to handle fish. Line never abated while we were there, but it moves right along. Highly recommended. The seared ahi was probably not best choice for a taco due to texture. The ahi was perfect. Also had ono, yellowtail, and snapper.

This is absolutely one of the best DDD we visited and we have been to many. We will go back.

Not sure where all the negative comments are coming from.  This place has the best fish ever!  My husband got the blackened swordfish plate and I got scallops.  Totally heavenly!  The swordfish just melted in your mouth.  You wait in line, but by the time you order, tables open up to sit.  It was worth it, and the staff is very friendly.  Would loved to have eaten there everyday we were on vacation.

Overrated, to say the least. Waited on line on a Sunday afternoon for 30 minutes to place our order. Food came out about 20 minues later. Had to try the fish tacos since that is what everyone, including Guy raved about. Had 3 different tacos- halibut, mahi mahi, and sea bass. Every taco had overcooked and dried out grilled fish. Thank goodness for the sauce otherwise we would have choked. Additionally, the fish was flavorless. Had we not known the texture of the different fishes we would not have known what was what. We started with a dozen oysters and even those were dry, like they were dried with a paper towel then returned to the dry shell. Had to load them with hot sauce and oyster crackers to get some flavor. Needless to say we were so disappointed. Ended up going next door to the Regal Beagle for yummy beers and the Giants game. That was more enjoyable than Blue Water. On the upside- they had a lot of variety of fish. I would go back to buy from their fresh fish selection to bring home and prepare.

Fresh fish doesn't get any better than this.  I wish sea bass was in season all year round.

LOVE Blue Water. Had one of the best fish taco ever there with a cold beer, on their funky little patio. It was awesome.

Best Soft Shell Crab sandwich i've ever had!!!

The swordfish taco's were everything Guy promised!  Yum.  The ceviche was an awesome surprise.  The chips served with it were tough, but the ceviche stood on it's own.

Just came back from San Diego and this was one of the highlights of the trip.  I had the Seared Ahi Tuna Taco with a Teriyaki Glaze - and it was unbelievable!  Perfectly cooked until medium, fresh crunchy toppings, on an earthy corn tortilla.  I will go there every time I'm anywhere near San Diego.

We stopped in while vacationing in San Diego and WOW!  I had the Ono sandwich and enjoyed every bite.  The fish was fresh and flakey, well seasoned and dressed appropriately. The people are very friendly and accomodating.

Large portions of super fresh fish, perfectly cooked. The only drawback is the torture of waiting for a table.

wish we had discovered this early in our vacation -- excellent food -- best fish and chips -- had several types of fish tacos at our table -- loved them all.  A definite place to visit

Crowded, started out sharing a dirty table then one opened up and we kept getting hit with the door the food was good enough, but did not compare to other DDD spots we've hit, walk up the street to el indio, another stop on the DDD tour, for some AWESOME mexican food!

The freshest seafood I've ever had.  You must try the fish sandwiches.  and if you don't know too much about seafood, just ask at the counter.  And trust me, whatever they recommend will be the tastiest fish sandwich you have ever had.  Oh yeah, let them also recommend the dressing for the sandwich.  they know what they are talking about.

Very good food but simple (when it's good it doesn't need much) Very fresh fish grill with a few choices of marinades.  I got a stripped bass taco.  It was excellent.

Great food and great service.  We caught them at a slow time, so no crowds to deal with.   They have the best coleslaw I've ever had.

A very excellent meal here!! I had a fish taco and the fish and chips!! WAY TOO MUCH food. I had totake half home!\ The service was excellent! The owner's wife helped my friends who hadn't been there (Me either but I knew what I wanted). It was the dinner rush so they were cleanin goff tables as people left. Because seating there is very limited!! But it was a great place!!

This place had great food. Very busy, but well worth the wait.

Busy place hard to get to but worth the effort

We've been going there since they opened and popularity has ruined them.  Tables are always filthy and they mess up the orders.  When our fish came without being grilled in chipotle sauce, instead of cooking a new piece, they just poured some marinade over the top.  We won't be going back.

The onion rings are huge and juicy!  Their fish is so fresh!  The fish tacos are worth the drive.  You also can pick any fish you want in any dish. Long wait but worth it!

BY FAR THE BEST SEAFOOD RESTAURANT IN SAN DIEGO, THE PLACE IT SELF, IS NOTHING FANCY BUT THE FOOD IS EXCELLENT, AND THE FRIENDLY SERVICE IS AWESOME, TRY THE SHRIMP TACOS (NOTHING LIKE BAJA FRESH, NO OFFENSE!! BUT NO COMPARISON) THIS IS THE HOLE IN THE WALL PLACE, YOU HAVE TO KNOW, AND WILL LOVE... WHEN YOU GO, TELL THEM ESAU 8-)  SENT YOU...
