    Visited Dallas for the first time and this place looked great on the show, so gave it a shot.  Awesome experience!  The staff was so friendly and helpful in explaining and recommending their dishes.  The chips and salsa brought out when we arrived were delicious but very spicy.  I can usually handle the heat but had to eat this salsa in moderation, even though it was so good I wanted to eat it all.  I had the Chile Rellano stuffed with brisket, with rice and breans.  Server suggested some kind of green sauce instead of the typical red sauce and I highly recommened that as it was creamy and flavorful.  Stuffing was tender and moist.  My husband had the fajita enchiladas and said they were excellent (he usually only gets fajitas at a Mexican place so this was his version of being adventerous).  Will definitely come back if ever in town again.

    The gordita was amazing as was the pozole. Great service, good margaritas and a real treat!

    Was in Dallas for work..Used my DDD app.. And discovered the best Mexican food north of the border..The food was fresh from the chips and salsa to the pork enchiladas and shredded beef chimi..Went back for lunch the next day... Go Cardinals!!

    My son lives in Lewisville and when I visited him this week we came here on Monday 09/12/2011, and it was wonderful. Clean, friendly, great service, and the food was outstanding! I had the triple d and everything was soo good! Glad I saw it on Diners Drive-Inns & Dives. Thanks Guy!

    LOVE LOVE LOVE Avila's.  Took my cousin Thursday night, and she loved it so much we went back on Saturday.  Great food, excellent service, fun atmosphere.  Almost hate all the new traffic that will come after the DDD show.....  Sigh.
