I had the Whiskey Shrimp for an appetizer and the New Orleans Blackened Conch Filet for the main entree. The Whiskey Shrimp was so tasty and not what I expected. I was expecting the sauce to have a heavy bourbon taste to it but you can't taste the whiskey at all and the toast points complement the entire dish well. The blackened conch filet was also very good. I've never had conch before but it worked well with the mushrooms and my steak was cooked medium-rare, exactly how I like it. My only gripe is I asked for it to be wrapped in bacon like the show but it was not on there when it was presented to me (I wasn't charged extra anyway). 9.0/10

My husband and I live just north of the Shanty in Wisconsin. I was amazed at how quickly we were seated, and our order taken. Everyone waited on us...The hostess seated us, and brought us our water, the waitress took our drink and dinner orders. Someone else brought us our drinks, someone else brought us our bread. The owner brought us our food. Our waitress checked in shortly after. After we finished a drink, a plate, or even dropped a piece of silverware someone was right there to remove the item or bring us a new one. Amazing food and service! I'm disabled and had no problem getting in or using the facilities. By the way, did I mention that it was 6:00 pm on a Friday night and we didn't have reservations!

Put simply if I had four hands I'd inevitably try to give the Shanty five thumbs up for their citrus tequila salmon. Cute place, great service and a lunch that could not have been better!

<span style="">Known for amazing food, in particular; Whisky Shrimp, Tequila Salmon, Alligator Tail, Pulled Pork.. Just a few of the most popular items. High energy atmosphere, there is a real sense of family.. If you aren't a part of it already, you will be within ten minutes of walking through the door. Oh and... Great bartenders ;-)

Very Disappointing!! We where told that it would just be a short wait.... 1:15minutes later we finally had a table. I guess you can get away with that when there are not many alternatives in the area. We went for a Whiskey Shrimp as it's billed as out of this world. We found it to be average with average taste nothing that would make us come back for. Very forgetabble. Also tried the Salmon. The sauce had a good flavor to it but my fish was really dry. Most of the other food we got was typical pull it out of the freezer and deepfry or nuke it up, ie don't get the crap cakes. The only good part of out meal was that at least once we got sat the food came quick. I think some people just build up somethings because they need to feel they had the expereince that a famous tv host claims you will. This was our third tripple D stop and was by far the worst to date.

Well worth the trip for me when I had to go to Milwaukee on a recent trip

On a recent trip to Milwaukee, I drove down to the Shanty for a late lunch.  It was surely worth the trip.  the Whiskey Shrimp are something else and the Conch Steak was very good.  another one of guy's "hits"

This place is just OK nothing special. There aren't many restaurants in the area and this is one of the better ones.

I have to say, not impressed... unless you want a side dish of clogged arteries! The best thing we tasted was the battered cod off the kids menu!

shanty was awesome - known for great burgers, outstanding wings, HUGE prime rib, wednesday and friday fish fry....whisky shrimp, filet mignon with sauteed conch and so on not even on the menu until the show -- well whisky shrimp on shrimp night.  Now the wings are AWOL, burgers too.   Too bad.   I liked it a whole lot better.
