The Sparrow Tavern

Finally made it to Sparrow this past weekend. The veggie burger was awesome. you have to get the honey mustard sauce(has a bit of a kick too it) but was so worth it. i have some friends that live down the street so i am looking forward to going back.

My New found awesome place to have an awesome grown up dinner without a formal dress on. My fiance saw and episode of "DDD" with this restaurant and he was so excited. 7 months later on his birthday I made this the place for birthday dinner. Everything absolutely everything was amazing here. The food, service, drinks, ambiance were all a 10 + across the board. Starters were crab cakes ( psst they use a whole lot of real crab) and the country Terrine and fell in love. My fiance ordered a pulled pork sandwich (Don't order this) which we thought was going to be piled high with .. well... Pulled pork. It was a sloppy mess of marinara. So we asked if he could get something else. This is why I still give the restaurant a 10. The server who i did not know was the owner/manager as well was the most polite woman ever and actually made us feel like it is their fault that it was bad and so kindly gave us something else took the sandwich off the bill and comped 2 drinks for us. He then ordered the steak which was to die for . I had the lamb ribs and was gasping for air trying to finish even though I was full because the flavor was so addictive. We somehow managed to fit in a creme Brulee which was the perfect balance because it wasn't too sweet just enough to end the meal. Thank you Sparrow Tavern . We will definitely visit again soon. I wish you had outside seating during the summer.

BBQ Bill ate their with my brother on Nov 18, 2012. The squash soup was fantastic and had the Swiss Chard Quesadilla and Pork Taco as appetizers and they were money. The Lamb ribs were the bomb and their herb seasoned fries were money. Cole slaw was great. Got the Veggie Burger and Grilled cheese to go and they were perfect. Great service, would highly recommend. Great meal after a long flight into LGA.

I thought you could go to Food Network and get the recipe's from the show. I also would like the Veggie Burger recipe.

The lamb RIbs were awesome!  the Pate was great!  all around 9 out of 10.  I recommend to anyone wanting to relax in a small cozy friendly tavern. G
