We eat here every time we come to San Antonio, which is our favorite place to have a weekend away from home (3 hour drive). This time, Memorial Day weekend, we ate there twice. Saturday, I have the puffy tacos and my wife had the nortena. We could only eat half and took the rest back to the hotel to eat later, after a night at Pat O'Brien's. Sunday morning, pork chops and eggs and my wife had the cheese omelet. The staff is very friendly and the owner treats you like you're eating in her house (which you are). Forget the previous reviews about poor service of mediocre food, they are wrong. If you want real Mexican food in a relaxed, home-style atmosphere, this is the place to go.

Just a note this places closes at 2pm! We tried to visit but they had already closed for the day.

I am from NY so please forgive me because shitty service is just typical. We arrived parked in the back and sat in the worse seat that was right infront of the door and it was crowded. I ordered the norteno and yes it was good. I t was huge and I definitely did the hunch eating it. So We ordered another one that was split between two people. All i can say is I got the itus something awful...I mean I felt like i had a lump of clay in me. lol It is very heavy. Don't sleep it will fill you up for a good day or three....

Wont visit this place again. Lousy service (couldn't get refills of ice tea), chips for the salsa were STALE, the Carne Asada taco was dry & tough, the re-fried beans with the taco salad were burned. Only the Fiesta taco had any flavor. I've had better meals at Taco Bell.

Total thumbs up. My wife and I had the puffy beef tacos. Great taste and only about a 30 minute wait on a Saturday morning.

Not that great, tortillas were good the lengua (tongue) was very tender but lacked seasoning. It was okay but not as I would have expected from the show BIG DISAPPOINTMENT!!

Tacos are as big as your head! Would go back again and again. We try to go to the DDD when ever we travel. This one was not a disappointment!

I went there on a Sat afternoon. I called for directions first they didnt' mention they thir sign wasmissing they are recessed from the road so after driving for an extra half hour we were really hungry and I had small kids with me. The tortillias were doughy, the eating area was dirty, overall a really bad experience.
