I went back last night, because my wife wanted to try it out. I agree with others on here about the prices, they were kind of steep. Otherwise things we liked included the "317" wings which had a zesty tomato based sauce on them, the Ranch slaw was tasty, the Cheddar mashed potatoes were awesome, and the chicken cutlet was moist and tasty, and the Malva Pudding was delicious. What we didn't like was the service (not very good), the breading on the chicken cutlet (cornbread) was dry (a personal distaste), the steak was overcooked and tasted dry (like it had been frozen for a while), the Kale was bitter and one note. Overall it was 50-50. We won't go back on our own but wouldn't decline an invite from friends to go out there.

I went as part of my foodie weekend birthday party. We had the tomato Bon bons and I had the asiago chicken and waffles which was very delicious. The only things that disappointed me were the prices, the limited menu and the cramped spacing. I would go back because the food was left an impression on me but I would probably get carry out. Every time someone at our table stood up, we bumped into a neighboring table.

I went with my mom and we ate all the recommended food, the tomato balls and their signature burger, and although this one is DDD recommended, we agreed that the food didn't really deliver. The staff was very nice and friendly, and our service was good, but the food itself (we went to luch during the week) was kind of bland. I felt like the menu talked up the dishes making my mouth water thinking about them, but the food just didn't live up to our expectations.
I need to point out that I knew about the DDD recommendation, not my MOM. But, she agreed that it was just so, so.

we were on a quick trip through Indy, so decided to hit the restaurant before our hotel.  It was nothing like it was on the show.  They asked if we had a reservation and nothing that was on the show was even on the menu.  When I asked the server he said they weren't making that today, but I could try the filet which wasnt on the menu.  The filet was good, but not $35 good!  My husband got a side order and my son had the kids fish sticks, which were actually very good.  Whne the bill came it was $60!!!!  This is not a diner, drive-in or dive!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My husband and I had dinner at Zest last night. On the positive side: we love the creative approach to the menu....and all the food we ordered was between good and great. My husband LOVED the Sake Bloody Mary, which was an appetizer in and of itself. For our actual appetizer, we ordered Ahi Crudo Tacos which were fun and delicious. Loved the vegetable relish.  My husband had an entree off the "Specials" menu....Beef filet with blue cheese mousse, garlic mashed potatoes and grilled asparagus. I had the 5-Hr braised short rib with polenta and grilled green beans. The blue cheese mousse was PERFECT on the filet....but the asparagus and potatoes were disappointing. The short rib was tendered and tasty, the green beans were, again, PERFECT....but the polenta, not so much. The service was great, but there are some infrastructure issues (I think that's the best way to refer to them). Our table was MUCH too close to the one next to us.....the young couple sitting next to us seemed very nice, but I could hear every word of their conversation, which made it hard to have our own. In fact, the restaurant does seem really loud....maybe the room we were in just had too many people in it. But it was hard to hear our waiter over the ambient noise. Also, restroom space is limited, and there always seems to be a line. One last surprise came when we saw the price of the filet my husband had ordered off the "specials" menu. The price wasn't posted anywhere that we saw, except on the bill. Overall, I'm giving it 4 stars....I'd translate that to an "A-" or barely a 90%. Glad we went.....got to check off another Triple D location, and those always beat the chain restaurants by a mile.

hmm...what to say about Zest.  The service is bad, the food is okay and the price is a little high. Let alone I have moral and ethical issues with the business practices of the owner.

Our visit to Zest was a great experience for us. My wife had the Asiago fried chicken sandwich and Mac and cheese and I had the shredded beef sandwich with fries and the roasted bell pepper Aiolo. Everything was beyond good, but the standouts for me were the Mac and cheese and the Aiolo. I disagree that anyone would think Zest is overpriced. Our whole lunch with a soft drink was $23.95. I've spent more for a lot less quality. Chef Valerie was very nice and the service was prompt.

You can't go wrong with anything you order here.   Everything made fresh and from scratch.   The Veggie Burger is the best I have ever eaten.   Creme Brulee French Toast is amazing.   Fish Tacos --  Tasty.    The list goes one!!

Had a  late breakfast.  Double Sausage Biscuits & Gravy, Yum.  Husband had the French Toast, again Yum.  Had a water glass spill with cheerful quick repair.  Looking forward to coming back from Cincy.

Over priced and the food wasn't great.  Very rude service.
