Great food and atmosphere! The Bacon Wrapped Meatloaf was out of this world as was the Italian Dip Roast Beef Sandwich. Service was very good; the hostess was funny and very talkative. The prices were OK.

We had a ball at brunch. We ordered smothered fried chicken and waffles. It was so-o-o wonderful! The ambience is great and the staff are friendly. We had the shrimp and grits plate, too. And the biscuit and gravy. Everything was perfect.

Awesome food! Great drinks! Knowledgeable waitress. Great experience. Trying to figure out how soon it'll be before I can go back. Love this place!!!

not closed.  I was there two weeks ago.  Did not try the food, just the beer.  Place was pretty busy.

Silk City used to be so much more than a diner -- I remember going to punk shows here in the 80s, and seeing some of the city's biggest names in the scene grab a late nite breakfast there after the shows.  It closed a while back, and when it reopened it stil had good food,; but i still miss the old Silk City.

might be new owners but the food is still terrific.  i had the chilled peach soup and the roasted beet salad with grilled chicken. which was very refreshing.  husband had the buttermilk fried chicken and has not stopped talking about it.

Visited 7/2/11. Food was great. Atmosphere charming. Staff friendly & accommodating. Clean, even the restrooms. We enjoyed our visit very much & will go back.

It used to be silk city diner. Re opened 3 years ago as silk city. It's not the same place, but the brunch is very good.

My husband & I were there January 25, 2011 & the atmosphere was great, food was a large portion (and good) but I was disappointed that what I wanted, by seeing it on DD&D wasn't on the menu.

I called and the hostess said that it's just a rumor going around that they have closed. They are open and have been open for 3 years....Going to try it tomorrow...

Went for the Saturday afternoon brunch with 4 adults. We all had something different from the brunch menue, with delicious results. All the dishes were wonderful take-offs of great classics, with eggs added. Shortribs with eggs, mahi-mahi with eggs and Duck confit with eggs. Great service and reasonable prices. Loved it

I went there today, and I really enjoyed it. I had the turkey egg rolls, and the thai wings. Both were great! The waitress was nice, and I heard some of my favorite songs while I was there. I will be returning soon, so I can try something else.

Although nothing from the show was on the menu - the food was awesome!!!  The atmosphere was geared to the younger crowd but i noticed a mix of young and old alike.  Save room for the dessert...it was the best I've had in a long time

was looking forward to trying a place that was featured on the show. spent some time looking into the spot and have to say that we were dissapointed.  no dishes shown on the show were being served and the basic dining questions seemed to be unanswerable or impossible to get done (who cant take a portion of food to cook it until it is well done or split a portion for a child???) all we are saying is that someone shoule take a second look at some of the spots after they air and offer an update (other than that from diners like us) *DONT_KNOW* :(

Strangely enough, saw this episode a week before going to Philly and immediately decided to go. DON'T MISS THIS PLACE! I had what may be the best fried chicken I can remember in a LOOOONG time. And then there was my girlfriend's Tri-tip. Diner food taken up to the next level! Come hungry!

The phone number you have listed above is wrong. That's not even a Philadelphia area code. The correct number is: (215) 592-8838.
