This family run restaurant is actually a 3 in 1 hot spot! Operating during the warm months, Monday and Tuesday is Pigro Wood Fired Pizzas, Friday and Saturday is the OG Whistlepig BBQ, and Sundays is the recently opened Pigtails Pasta Bar, featuring build your custom pasta bowl before Tony fires it in the wood oven. The features rotate each week, with standard favorites rounding out the menu. This is a dive that has lines well out to the “parking lot” all summer long, as Charlotte residents and visitors wait for some of the best and most creative food you’ve ever had. Jason and Melissa conceptualize BBQ fusion from around the world, with features like jambalaya and gumbo following carnitas, brisket corn dog bites, train wreck fries, huli huli meatball sliders, chop shop sammiches, house made pastrami, taking on the incredible standard BBQ fare like pulled pork and chicken, brisket, ribs, and the Frankenswine, a guilty pleasure lunch of pulled pork piled on top of a beef frank hot dog. You can drizzle on the house made sauce, and lick your fingers before or after the rotating house made desserts. When you’ve figured out what to eat you can grab a seat at any one of five picnic tables, or eat it in your car, just make sure to bring plenty of napkins with you. This is an absolute must visit, but make sure to get there early! The line starts forming about 15 minutes before opening, and they’ll be there until they run out of food, which they always do.

I love this place because, it’s a family owned business and run by family, I love the food and the atmosphere. Every time I eat there I am thinking of the next time I can get back out there to have more of the great food. They have their standard menu in every week they always have a special, and a lot of the times the special is something I’ve never heard of before or tried and it is never a disappointment. This little hole in the wall place if you were driving by you would probably miss it. The setting is right by a railroad track. There is always a line around the building and down the street, they open at 11 AM and I think they close around 7 PM or until they run out of food which ever comes first, 99% of the time they run out of food. The only advertisement I know of is on Facebook but I heard about this place by Word of mouth, which I think is the best kind of advertisement you can get is by word of mouth. My favorite menu item is the brisket sandwich , Very flavorful and tender, and with it I get coleslaw, mac & cheese and a drink, Oooooh it’s so good !!! After you order your food you pay for it and wait for it, and the wait is worthwhile, and then you can get to go or sit at the picnic tables on the side and enjoy your yummy food.
