My husband Creig Blackburn started cooking turkeys for his lawn customers for Christmas ever year. Then him and our (2) sons built a smoker and wagon started and set up on the side of the road and sold to the public. Our youngest son Brandon decided to leave his full time job and cook on the side of the road. that took place for about (2) years and a building came up for sale in the town of Eagle Lake Florida. Brandon brought the building in 2017 and opened brick and mortar restaurant he is the middle of remodeling and hoping to be finished by this September 2022. Back on April 1 2022 he was blessed with having the Governor of Florida Ron Desantis come to his restaurant. Blackburn's Bar BQ has won Best BBQ for 2018, 2019 & 2021 for Polk County. I would love for his restaurant to be consider to be on Diner Drive-ins and Dives
Food is outstanding but the family that owns and runs this restaurant are fantastic people and they work so hard to make people coming to eat there happy. Their motto is : this business was built on hard work , commerce and capitalism. That is the American Dream. Fine people and great food. Let guy know I own a camp Margaritaville RV resort about 20 minutes away from this wonderful restaurant and he can bring the family in his RV and hub out of here.
