"Eat n Meet Grill and larder in Saranac Lake, NY"

Glenn

"The restaurant for these times" as their website says. A cubbyhole sized cafe that is committed to making "real" fast food. They use only fresh local ingredients and everything is prepped to order. They have a couple tables but their business is mostly takeout, but call ahead because it can take up to 45 minutes for the chef to prepare your food from scratch. My personal favorites are their poutine and their plantain dumplings. Their menu is always changing with the season and availability. Fish tacos, Reuben's, and burgers are a few menu standards that are big hits.In the summer look for the life size Elvis statue on the sidewalk or peekingn out the balcony!http://www.eatnmeet.com/

As a fan of Diners, Drive-ins and Dives, I cannot wait to see the episode where Guy visits Eat-n-Meet. I find it hard to believe that he [Guy] hasn't already visited. Eat-n-Meet is exactly the type of place that deserves to be featured on the program. Guy's taste buds won't be sorry!

In addition to all the wonderful attributes already mentioned, Eat-n-Meet is so supportive of special needs patrons! I let them know that I have Celiac issues, and they actually modify the entree for my safety (when possible) -- or they let me know which entrees can be modified. And everything there is so delicious! (Even when it's Celiac-safe!) ;-) It's one of the few places that I can enjoy going out to eat! LOVE LOVE LOVE Eat-n-Meet!

Not sure how to pick a favorite! The menu changes daily and so does my favorite, like today "Fresh fish out of Eastern Long Island, caught yesterday, serving it tonight at the 'Grill! Blues and Fluke not to be missed!" Can't wait to see how John Vargo decides to prepare it.

We consistently recommend Eat and Meet to our guests and have never gotten a bad review. My husband's favorite is their Ruben sandwich. This is the only place we eat beef, because it is local and grass feed. Their sweet potato fries are "to die for"!

Eat n Meet is an amazing restaurant owned and operated by wonderful people who give back to our community. It would be wonderful to see them get national recognition. The menu changes seasonally but two of my favorite staple foods there are the Hush Puppies and Corn Beef Brisket sandwich. The food is made to order and worth the wait. In the summer there is outside seating but during winter months cozy indoor seating is available. It is not uncommon to share a table with complete strangers and walk away with new friends!
