Family Table Cafe and Bakery in Auburn Hills, MI
This is a gem. Breakfast and lunch joint. Founded by a father (Joe) along with his Son (Brandon) and Daughter (Jocelyn). Cate, Brandon's wife is also in the mix as an ever effervescent server. Dad has taken ill but is recovering. Brandon and his best mate run the savory side. Jocelyn is the baker. Retention of key employees, consistency of product and cost containment is vital to keeping the doors open in the slim margin restaurant industry. This joint simply shines in all three. And to top it off, they take well deserved pride in hiring local High School students. Mentoring them and helping shape a positive work ethic. Many of whom are enjoying their first job. Made my keep years ago as a manager of several high end independent restaurants around Metro Detroit. Remain flabbergasted by the many who worked relentless shifts for not enough cash money. To this day, we only visit independent joints. This is the first, (and likely only time), writing to you for a joint to be featured on Triple D. This treasure does not disappoint.
