You absolutely won’t regret checking out this amazing spot. The owner, Jon, is one of the kindest people you'll ever meet, and his entire team makes you feel like part of the family the second you walk in. I’ve known Jon since high school—he was a year ahead of me and was always genuinely nice to everyone. He also happens to be great friends with my cousin Tom, who’s now one of the line cooks! Jon is hands-on every single day the restaurant is open. He comes in early to prep, stays late to clean, and is deeply involved in every part of the business. He’s even created custom dishes that use local ingredients and reflect the unique flavor of the area we both grew up in. You can check out their food on Facebook at The L.A.B Shack—trust me, the photos alone will make your mouth water. My go-to order? “Tell Tom to surprise me”—and he never disappoints (not just because he’s my cousin, haha). I’d really love to see Jon and his incredible team get the recognition they deserve. They’ve built something special, and it deserves the spotlight!
