I grew up with the now owner Buckshot and he's worked there since he was a child bc his grandfather owned it. It's been known for the Newtburger but Buckshot has taken it to another level. It's a must taste!

Don't look for Bagdad, Kentucky on a map. You probably won't find it. It's a community of 600 located between Shelbyville and Frankfort. The birthplace of Martha Layne Collins, former Governor of Kentucky. It's about as rural as it gets. But everyone within 100 miles of Bagdad come to enjoy the food at B&N Food Market. They even arrive in helicopters on the weekends to enjoy what "Buckshot" brings in daily from the smokehouse. Most say B&N delivers the "best" smoked brisket in Kentucky. Many say it's the best in the country. I can tell you from eating BBQ for years across Texas and Kansas City ... it's the best brisket I've ever put in my mouth. Some of the best ribs, pulled pork, smoked pork belly, and smoked turkey too. But the brisket steals the show. If you want brisket, you'd better arrive by 1pm on Saturdays because their regulars buy "Buckshot out" every day. A full smoker loaded with brisket gone in 2-3 hours. There's a line out the door for hours. They also offer the "Newt Burger" named after the original owner, and a triple burger that even your "hunch" will find challenging. Did I forget the Fried Fish sandwich on Fridays. The filet is about 18 inches long. You visit a lot of unique diners, drive-ins and dives ... but this is one stop you'll never forget.
