Rub's Backcountry Smokehouse in Chicago, IL

Rub's Smokehouse in Chicago deserves a visit for its Smoked brisket, chicken, and pork. It's sides, particularly the Truffle Mac and Cheese and the custard filled cornbread, provide nice contrasts to the smokiness of the meat dishes.And don't forget the Texas Caviar! Their sauces run from sweet to not-too-spicy and are vinegar based. Jared Leonard, the owner, is a fan of dry-rubs and is proud to show happy customers his custom built smoker and the protocol he uses to get the meats done. He also offers classes in how to smoke meat. The place appears to have a large and growing customer base. 6954 N. Western Ave. Guy, you gotta taste this stuff! I (and a lot of friends) will be happy to eat here for the camera. Oh, and I could go on about the Peach Cobbler...
