Taqueria Guanajuato in Hamilton, Ohio is one of those places that we tell all of our visiting friends about. Victor Carrillo started this place as a food truck and turned it into an amazing family-owned restaurant, and you can see the pride he takes in it every time you walk through the door. No matter when we stop in, Victor is usually there. He always comes by the table to say hello and make sure everything is right. You don't get that kind of personal attention very often anymore. The food is the real deal—fresh, authentic, and consistently fantastic. My favorites are the carnitas dinner and the steak fajitas, but we've never had a bad meal ever. Everything tastes like it's made from scratch. This isn't a trendy restaurant trying to be something it's isn't. It's a hardworking family serving incredible food and treating customers like friends. Every time we leave he jokingly says, "see you tomorrow." I really think this is the kind of hidden gem that Guy loves to find, and I'd love to see Taqueria Guanajuato get the recognition it deserves.
