Bordo in Marfa, Texas, is one of the best sandwich shops I’ve ever been to—I’d honestly put it above anywhere I’ve had, even in Chicago. In the middle of the West Texas desert, they’re serving incredibly high-quality food made almost entirely from scratch with amazing ingredients. The Cashiola (Italian) and the Emiliani with prosciutto are unforgettable. They also had a raw salmon and watermelon special that was one of the best dishes I ate all trip. We ended up going three times during our four-day visit because we couldn’t stop thinking about it. For a tiny desert town, the line is often down the block, and once you eat there, you’ll understand why. We even bought sandwiches for the roadtrip home. If you’re ever filming in West Texas, Bordo absolutely deserves a stop.
