Uncle Lefty's has become a local favorite for their restaurant, great food, bar, awesome staff, and welcoming atmosphere. Dan Sbrega bought the building during COVID with a hope and a dream, and renovated the small location into a successful restaurant and bar. Dan worked in a bar in college, has owned his own production company for many years and has earned an Oscar, but never owned a bar/restaurant. He enlisted the help of Chef Jody Hunter and they hit the ground running. My favorite item on the menu is Mayor Drake's Blackened Catfish Sandwich. Yes, I am the mayor of our village and it is by far the best! Chef Jodi has done an awesome job of updating the menu throughout the year and tailors the menu to the season, customer base (young and old), and comfort food. They have televisions on most walls with different sports games running all the time. I actually held my victory party there last year and the place was packed. Dan Sbrega went to the Hastings-on-Hudson Historical Society and was able to get prints of many old photos depicting our village over the years years, and has woven in more popular pieces. He memorializes family and notable locals who have passed away by posting their pictures on the wall behind the bar, one being my father-in-law who was our local judge for over thirty years until he passed away three years ago. For a small place, they have a big story to tell, great food and drinks, and I hope you will consider it for a future episode.
