The Apple Pan on Pico Boulevard in West Los Angeles. One of the best burgers in LA. They make a wonderful Hickory and apple pie. The opened in 1947. Check it out on google. The counter is horseshoe shaped. It is so popular that you have to stand behind and counter and wait for someone to leave. Three generations of my family have loved it.

I second this. Has somewhat of a cult following in LA. Great vibes, great place. Yummy burger and grilled cheese.
