I am a Rhode Island native. Just so you know. I have watched the episode where you have clam chowder (white) with Lori in Providence. I just saw an episode where you had clam cakes with chowder (again white at Aunt ???). All I had growing up in RI was red chowder and I wondered why the 2 times I have seen you eat chowder in RI it has been white even thought RI is notorious for it's red??? In fact: based on a Chronicle episode I have seen red chowder actually started in RI, not Manhatten. If you want something good as well as native to RI and not the stuff you have had in the past on your show you should go to Ye Olde English in Woonsocket, RI. I make trips there just so I can have the red chowder and clam cakes (cakes only on Sat.). Sometimes I have to have a small red so I can eat it in the parking lot before I go to my next stop--usually my parents. Ya-- it is that important. I really don't know why you have featured white on the few episodes I have seen about chowder in RI. That is really not what the locals eat and to be honest I never had white until I moved to Gloucester, Mass. When I was served a cup of white I actually asked what is this???. " This is not what I ordered!!". Love it now at certain restaurants but still need my "fix" of red when I go "home". Give it a try. You will love it. Karen Hunter
