Steamboat Bills in Lake Charles, LA
Steamboat Bills, along Interstate 10 in Lake Charles, Louisiana!! Take it from a fellow UNLV graduate (Hotel Administration, graduated 1992), you DO NOT want to miss this place! Louisiana Cajun food at its best! It even has a bit of an interesting pedigree...VP Dick Cheney is said to send his aides to Steamboat Bills to pick up some of his favorite dishes when he's in the area duck hunting. The owner, Kathy Vidrine, was the 2012 winner of the SW Louisiana Restauranteur of the Year award, and one publication (I forget which) included it on it's list of Top 10 Places You Don't Want to Miss When Travelling the I-10. If you get there during crawfish season, you'll enjoy the spicy boil...and don't miss the gumbo and the pistolettes!

Hi, first, I watch all your shows, DDD is my favorite. Second the places I'm suggesting is Louisiana but I'm no longer there, I'm in Florida. The city is Lake Charles (Moss Bluff area as well) and the first place is called steamboat bills. There are two of them there, I've only been to the one in Lake Street, the second place is Cajun Booths, the fish is called swamp fries. I'd love for you to try them, my suggestion is try Steamboat Bills furst.
Guy we love DDD, and we have tried a few places in the DFW metroplex a Guy we love DDD, and we have tried a few places in the DFW metroplex and have not been disappointed. Which is why I have to suggest one of the best places in Lake Charles, SteamBoat Bills is one of the best places I have had the pleasure to stop, make a assertive effort to even go out of my way to eat. They serve a mean fried catfish, gumbo, red beans and rice which is to die for. I can't believe you have not made this stop, to a great experience.. Great experience. Enjoy: Ernie
