"Andina in Portland, OR"
Hey Guy, My boyfriend and I recommend Andina on NW 13th and Everett in Downtown Portland's "Pearl District". The atmosphere is great, it has live music, but the food is delicious! We tried a few dishes: YUCA RELLENA yuca croquetas stuffed with mozzarella and cotija cheese, served over huancaína sauce ANTICUCHO DE POLLO marinated chicken kebobs, served with a spicy salsa de rocoto ARROZ CON PATO* a gourmet version of an iconic Peruvian dish with duck served two ways: crispy duck confit and duck breast pan-seared to order, paired with cilantro-infused rice, a savory-sweet passionfruit sauce and baby carrots. All three came out fresh, hot, and beyond flavorful. Each bite had an interesting complexity of flavor that had too much depth to experience all in one bite. The bread that they had served before all of this was their own homemade quinoa bread with three different kinds of flavorful sauces (ocopa, huancaína and rocoto sauces) that were all unique on their own. I would definitely recommended taking some to go. The entree (duck served two ways) was perfect, the meat fell off the bone and paired with the cilantro rice and passionfruit sauce it was a match made in heaven. Overall, we definitely think DDD would love it (although it's a little swanky the food is what counts).
