Nick's Original Filet House in Tuscaloosa, AL
I recently traveled to Tuscaloosa AL for football camp that 2 of my 3 sons took part in. While there a friend who attended college there 25 years ago told me to try a hole in the wall place called Nick's in the sticks. We (I) have a rule that when we are out of town we can only eat at places we don't have at home. Even with that rule, as we pulled into the dirt lot used for parking my wife (spoiled brat used to the big name chain restaurants of south florida) said where are you taking me, I think I'm gonna be sick! We both watch your show regularly which assisted me in talking her in to going inside. Thank god for your show because it was the best decision we made. My wife had a bacon wrapped filet seasoned and cooked perfectly with a basic baked potato and I had a rib eye that I can honestly say was hands down one of the best steaks I've had and an order of hand made onion rings had great flavor. I've had steaks that have cost more than our entire meal (her filet my ribeye a kids meal for my three year old and 6 Nickademus's for $52) that don't compare to this.
