"Zipp's Pizzeria in Adair, IA"
Zipp's pizzeria. Adair, IA is a must attend pizza place. The choices of pizza far exceed your normal pizza restaurant. The restaurant is an old clothing store/general store. Hardwood floors, tin ceiling, brick walls. but what really makes the place special is the owner. Jim has spent years refining his pizza dough, sauce, options. jim has so many unique options you can't help but try several each time you go to the restaurant. my personal favorite is the taco pizza...others serve taco pizza but jim's is the best. He doen't use "meat terds", but rather makes his own taco meat. Then there's the Big Jim. Oh my goodness. Jim's version of a Big Mac. Salivating just thinking of it. I could go on and on, but what resonates with me is that each time I'm there, the place is packed. That's neat, you say, but the restaurant is in the middle of no where. Farm country, 50 miles west of Des Moines in a tiny town of less than 700. People come from all over the state and the U.S. to eat at Zipp's. Jim would say he doesn't want you to come "ain't nothing special about my place", but rather that he wants the state of Iowa to be known for more than corn. His place IS special; he's just humble. And a character. Jim has many fans far and wide, and you'd be nuts not to take that Camaro and hit the road to Adair.
