Our road trip through Montana
We were on a road trip through Montana, and it was TIME to eat. Our family took a consensus and decided whatever eating establishments were at the next exit, we'd be stopping. That is how we found ourselves in Drummond, Montana. (East of Missoula Montana, off I-90). Fast food chains had already been declared "No's". We had seen a sign for Parker's Family restaurant touting 100+ different burgers. That caught our attention! We found our way to the correct exit, 30 miles later, and located the establishment operated by Brent and Jennifer Parker. There was a framed newspaper article on the wall which was quite informative. From that we learned that Brent Parker was a retired Navy Veteran who had attended the Califirnia Culinary Institute and graduated in 1991. However, let it be noted that Jennifer is a very personable "front man" talking and visiting with customers. She was friendly and was willing to answer any and all questions we had - some about the food and others way off that path! Lol The waitress handed us binder, to begin with, that listed and described 135 different burgers. That binder in itself was pretty entertaining. Then came the food...... It was AMAZING!!!! Our family ordered various burgers and my daughter ordered a grilled ham and cheese. That might not sound too exciting, but everything we ordered was so delicious. Then I saw Jennifer delivering cheesecake to another customer. On her way back through we stopped her and inquired about the desserts. The day's choices included cheesecake, and several other tantalizing items, but truthfully she had me at "cheesecake". All the deserts were homemade. Brent's love of cooking plus his training resulted in one of the best pieces if cheesecake I have ever put in my mouth!!!!! It was a plain piece of cheesecake. But fresh whipped cream, chocolate sauce, strawberry sauce, and chocolate and mint garnish took a fabulous cheesecake and made it even better!!! Come to find out, Jennifer to,d us that Brent had proposed to her with that cheesecake. He knew what he was doing!!!! My husband and I watch your show faithfully. Many episodes are watched over and over again. We have been known to alter travel plans in order to hit "that palace we saw on Triple D". Based on our experiences and the content of your shows, we would like to recommend Parker's Family Restaurant. It was truly a find - a highlight of our trip!!!
