"Cody's Smokin' Barbeque in Las Vegas, NV"
Check out Cody's Smokin' Barbeque in Las Vegas. It is a true dive crankin' out some ridiculous BBQ. Their smoker is out in the parking lot while the food is inside the Hard Hat Lounge, a rough ridin' kind of dive bar. A special part of the Vegas back alleys. You smell the smoke as soon as you pull in and you taste it long after you leave. There isn't much to the menu but what they do have is killer. I just ate a two meat combo with brisket and pulled pork for my meats and cole slaw and baked beans for my "fixin's." The pork was juicy and sweet with the hint of smoke a good man craves. It remined me of kalua pig. The brisket was on point. Tender to the point of falling apart. A smoke ring that puts dirty bathtubs to shame. fat rendered out perfectly. Simply superb. I finished my lunch with a bite of the smaller pieces swimming in the juices that had come out of this freshly sliced beef. This was the most intensely flavored bite of the day. All the oil and beef juice picked up the full brunt of the rub and smoke. It was like liquid BBQ. I almost want to drink it with a straw. The beans and cole slaw look generic but don't let appearances fool you. The beans are a little spicy with black pepper but not so much that they lose the baked bean sweetness. The slaw is a vinegar based slaw. It tastes like fresh cabbage. None of that soggy wilted stuff you get a some popular fast food fried chicken joints. Not bad. This one may well be a must.
