"CT's Deli in Rhinelander, WI"
Have you ever had “tailgater soup”? I think it’s time to check out CT’s Deli in downtown Rhinelander, Wisconsin. Chef Tom brought this much needed taste to the area, and the people noticed! In small town Wisconsin everyone loves their fish frys; but Chef Tom has shown the community what they are missing. He smokes his own meats and creates spectacular sandwiches of all kinds. Pulled pork, brisket, salmon, mostly (only because I'm not 100% sure about all of them) accompanied by his own sauce creations and just, yum. Homemade soup every day. The tailgater! You have not lived until you've tried Chef Tom's tailgater soup. A beer, cheese, and brat combination accompanied by a soft pretzel. I've had many beer cheese soups in these parts, but this one I have dreams about. It's not all about meats and hearty soups; he has vegetarian specials (including a meat-less soup every day). The main menu ends at 6 p.m., but have no fear, stop in for an evening appetizer. Chef Tom’s homemade hummus platters accompanied by fresh vegetables and bread are delicious, huge, and made for sharing. CT’s is also a full bar, with unique craft beers on tap, wines, and of course you can always get a fresh old-fashioned. Chef Tom is an interactive guy. You won’t find him tucked away in a kitchen; he’s front and center in his kitchen. One side faces the dining area and he personally hands everyone their order. The other side has a window overlooking downtown Rhinelander. He takes customer requests, and puts them into reality. You can see it every day at the Deli and on Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/CTsDeli), for those of us stuck in an office drooling. To top it off, an outdoor dining area (next to the delicious smelling smoker) perfect for a sunny lunch break or evening live music from a local artist. It’s everything wrapped up into a wonderfully simple package, which reminds me… I need to find someone to accompany me to fish taco Friday (he didn’t completely forget about the #1 northern Wisconsin meal!)
