I spent 8 months in Baton Rouge LA and can highly recommend 2 joints: Fleur de Lis Pizza on Government Rd .... A true DIVE of the old school variety. Try the "Around the World" pizza. Thin crust, anchovy, sausage, pepperoni, etc..... GREAT pizza served in a dim, dingy dive that hasn't been renovated or redesigned since the 60's. Drago's Restaurant in Metairie LA originated the char grilled oyster, and does them better than anyone else. They have their own fishermen, load their trucks right on the dock every day. They also have a restaurant in New Orleans, but it is NOT as good as the Metairie location. Both of these places have web sites, so you can get an idea online..
